Since these little trucks are used off road, has anyone taken off the converter and if so did they notice any improvement? I am thinking about doing it but am worried it might reduce the back pressure to much. I am going to leave the muffler just remove the converter. Any thoughts?

If you don't have any problems with it leave it alone, I couldn't tell any difference. I had one clog up and the exhaust turned cherry red so I had to knock mine out.

Word of caution on converters. They get HOT. They can start fires. This doesn't mean get chop happy, just keep it in mind in tall dry grass. If you smell something, check it out. I think that sometimes removing some of the shielding under the cat should lower the risk of starting fires with the exhaust. It eliminates a place for material to collect.

Do someone a favor. When you park your vehicle and the exhaust is hot think of the volunteer that will be leaving his job, son's birthday party, or whatever to come put out the fire. It only takes a second and the volunteer thanks you each time.
