Thanks to everyone who patiently guided me through tire issues with the Hijet I got last Wednesday. Today I ordered two 25x8-12 Goodyear Rawhide Grip tires from moto4less ($141.98, delivered). These will replace the same tires in size 25x11-12 on the aftermarket front wheels. I also ordered four Nanco Super Lug tires, size 6-12 (23-6-12) to be installed on my stock wheels. I am getting the Nanco tires from 1stoptires for a total of $167.96, delivered. I have doubts about all of these tires, but wanted to go ahead and make my truck driveable. The Nanco tires cannot fail to fit and will give me some spares (would not use four wheel drive with mismatched tires). I am trying to get back from the seller $300 which was charged to my Visa, for the reason that he stated that the truck had new tires whereas the front tires were the wrong size and the lugs were being cut and destroyed. Some of the lugs are actually crumbling from pounding against the wheel wells--not exactly "new." I have other complaints against the seller but the $300 credit will just about pay for the replacement tires.

I cannot recommend moto4less. I placed an order online Monday and today (Wednesday) I called to check. Despite listing the Rawhide Grip tires on their website and despite giving me an order number, the tires are not in stock and they cannot get them. I had to call them, they did not notify me.
I have reordered these tires from Tires Unlimited. The total cost is $11 less but there will be a couple of days before they can get the tires and ship them. The Nanco Super Lug tires are supposed to be on the way from 1stoptires, but I do not have details.

How did you get a deal like that from 1stoptires???.. I went on their website and they have that tire priced at $95.99 each. Am I looking at the same tire??
I wouldn't mind having a set at your price.

Thanks to increases in the cost of petroleum, the inflationary policies of the Bush administration, etc., prices of most goods have risen substantially. I bought those tires some months ago.
I have kept the 25 inch Rawhide Grip tires on the Hijet, replacing the original 11 inch wide tires on the front with eight inchers. This move has not been terribly successful. The lugs on the front tires are being torn up rather badly and tires hit the body quite often, but not as often as with the wider tires. The big tires are good for going up hills and for getting through the woods. I will soon take off the Rawhide Grips and replace them with the Nanco 6-12s on stock wheels, which are in storage at my camp. These tires will not hit the body and are reasonably capable offroad. I will give them a test to see if they provide a workable compromise between performance and compatibility with the front wheel wells.
D'Animal, look at my photos in the gallery. I will post photos of the Nanco 6-12s right now.
