ok having trouble with the 3'' binding,,,,,,,
do yal think i could remove the 3 inch cut a inch out it & weld it back to make a 2''.........? some think a 2 inch lift will let the cv joint live longer with lees noise of binding?.........thanks STROKE ON

Stroker ,you can live with the 3" lift by lowering the front differential, but doing so will require altering the engine crossmember for driveline clearance. If you like send me a private PM with a phone number and I will tell you what I have done that I have been testing offroad and is working fine.No secret from anyone, I can talk faster than I type.

thanks..........sure looks easyer to drop the lift ........than the rest of it?
sounds about the same so far as ground clearance..........
i only want to do this once........just going back to the original sould be the best i would think .......for long term?.........have you done both ?
thanks again ...STROKE ON

I have about worn out the front end on my truck playing with different ideas, bottom line is if you are raising your truck over 2" be ready to make further modifications or risk drivetrain damage.I would say a good rule of thumb is if you can jack up the front of a lifted truck completely unloading the front suspension and the tires will turn freely with no binding at any steering position then your CV shafts will live.
