I have a 1994 Hijet S110p-005533 4WD with High Low Range and a rear Diff Lock.
The Japanese owner likely saw some sort of trouble, as the high low range cable was replaced with a brand new one. When I first moved this vehicle, it poped out of High Range, and made that sound most of us are familiar with, and with a lot of pressure on the control, moving the gear lever, working the clutch, it did go far enough into high range to move the vehicle.
There is no combination of settings (I discovered) that will allow me to move from high range to low range. There may be an interlock of some sort that does not allow the operation of HI/LOW unless it's set in the right position, if anyone understands this transfer case, and has an idea as to what I should try next, I'd be most greatful. I know there are some vehicles that expect to see logic that the vehicle is in 4WD before low range can be selected, is this one of them?
thanks in advance for any help or ideas.
