AS mentioned I have recently bought an ACTY VAN 1983 model & Picking it up some time later this month.
QUESTION is THere is also another one in OK but not drivable condition that he will scrap. So I was told to HARVEST what I want off of it. Since I dont have the space to take the SPARE one back up the coast with me WHAT IS THE MOST expensive or IMPORTANT stuff worth taking from it??
He said take the doors I was also thinking The LIGHT assemblies? Wishinld wipers? Maybe something from the DASH? The spare wheel or indeed wheels? WHAT are the common things that are worth getting now while I can as speares rather than ordering them later down the track?
HOSES, Fittings, Filter, Leads Distributor???
ANYHELP you can give me over the next week will be INVALUABLE!!

take a couple mechanically inclined friends and just tear into it.
i'm not familiar with the acty specifially but i would take the following
light fixture (head, tail, turn)
glass (all.. windshield back whatever isn't broken)
any relays you can pull
all of those should come off relatively easily... should time allow take axles, trans and motor.
when i strip a junk car i unbolt what needs to be unbolted, but i torch a lot of stuff off.. think about it, this guy is going to junk the truck anyway right?
another thing to think about would be to take an air compressor and use air tools to get stuff done faster... make the most of those 2 hours!!

Well As mentioned its about a 2 hour drive down there I will be driving a little Toyota Echo Sedan so for starters not MOUNTAINS Of room but still a fair bit. It unfortunatley does not have a TOW BAR or I would have taken the other one home with me and taken my time taking what I need. Iam taking my father in law down tehre with me so will have an extra pair of hands getting what we need from it.
I was not intending on taking my compressor and air tools with me as we should have some time to take what we need. ALSO STILL HAVING A DILLY OH of a time finding roof racks of this thing. I thought If I could source them out bnow I could strap some things to the roof. Look forward to any assistance.
PS: I just saw a SWEET acty on ebay at the mo. Just jump onto ebay.com type in ACTY and havea look a nice 6WD.

Well the good news is we (Yes got another person to come along) will leave 7am get to Sunny coast at 10:00am at the latest then we have as long as we need to get what we want but I would like to try and get home before its dark even though I dont think it will really matter. I will take some rope just in case I need a tow home. But Iam sure I wont be needing one of those.
