I have found something weird on my sambar radio ( not stock radio). it appears there are two inline fuses (round) one is marked 15a and another 7a.
Now these two are on the same wire! can't get the radio to work and i get the odd spark here and there when trying to change out fuses etc.
To me this doesnt seem right. two diuffernt amperages on the same line?
Anyone have any insight?
Thanks

One should be red, and one yellow correct?

One is for constant power to keep the clock (Yellow)

The red one is for ignition power to turn the radio on and off with the key.

Now, odds are they have them tied to the ignition lead. But, is it blowing the fuses when you replace them?

If so, there is a wiring issue or the radio is toast.

Disconnect ALL wires, except the Ground (Black) and the red and yellow (Power). Turn on the key and see if it powers up.

If so, move on to reconnecting the speakers, one at a time. If a fuse pops, notice which wire you hooked back up that made it pop. Then you know where the problem is.

But, if with only the 3 wires hooked up it doesnt light up, then its junk. Toss it and leave it.

ok un hooked every wire and threw away old radio ( wasnt stock and someone elses hack job radio install). Grabbed my deck out of the boat and began hooking up. just red and yellow and black. no power. no fuses blown.
Is there another fuse box besides the one under dash? (sambar)
Thanks. no tunes sucks

got er all figured out now. baking hot out playing with a wiring mess in a black t-shirt not advised. brought my frustration point to quite a limit.
anyways we have tunes but very quiet ones.
got two speakers in dash jbl minis already installed b4 i got truck.
So i stole a couple speakers from my boat to try and help things out. Now i must figure a spot to put them in. is there a space on doors for speakers?

yep bad radio. it seems like it was a "factory refurbished" anyways by the little sticker on the side. junk.
Stole my boat stereo. Was so frustrated and H O T that i wired it wrong the first time in so I was sure it was something else. after coming inside and internetting (therapy) i went back out and connected as should and wowsers i got power light to come on. checked the speakers and threw it in. I have two tiny speaks in the dash and I have two 6 inch boat speakers just sitting (rolling around behind passenger seat) behind seat. Need to build a box i guess if thats where there staying.
Where is the best spot for two extra speaks. Don't think I'll clear the dash if i go into the doors. the speaks look big.

when i bought the stereo and speakers for my truck i got 5 1/4" thinking "i'm sure theres room for these tiny things". when i got home i was stumped. it took about 15min to install the new stereo, and i spent 45min just wandering in circles around the truck and poking around and had no room to mount them without cutting sheet metal or plastic.

greg put little c.b. radio speakers in his truck which sounded like a good idea... until i bought them. i liked the mounting fixtures but they sounded like crap. so i tore the box open, made some modifications to hold my 5 1/4" pioneers and went back to work finding a place to mount them. i didn't like the idea of them mounted up high where they would be blasting into my ears.

on the passenger side i pulled the glove box out and found a good place to mount the speaker and with the swivel base the box came with it's pointed towards the passenger's feet but out of the way and very audible. on the drivers side i was completely stumped. but i ended up putting the little speaker box in front of the steering column, wedged between the support bracket for the steering column and the front of the cab. it points directly up at the driver.

they are small speakers run off a cheap walmart brand head unit but a lot better than the stock AM radio. and once i put them in a box instead of them laying on the dash they sound a lot better, not much bass from a speaker that size, but at least i can hear the radio when i have the window down now.

You do know that there are 2 - 4x6 mounting spots on either end of the dash.
I think that the Sambar might be the only kei truck to come with factory holes for
two speakers.

i think those spots are already taken by some very tiny speakers.
i will have to have a better look and maybe swap some better speaks in.
thanks

Left side empty, Right side ocupied by speaker that is joke for AM factory radio.
I'm planning on a set of Infinity 4x6 speakers in mine.
There won't be any of the plastic screw retainers on the left side since how there wasn't
a speaker but I found ones that fit perfect at the local auto parts store.

do you just pop off speaker covers in dash or is there a screw somewhere?

Two screws at bottom.
Get down low - look up.
