while i was cleaning my truck i noticed the fuse box beneath the driver's seat had an icon with ABS on it. i opened the box and there are prongs where a relay or breaker should plug in but it's not there. does my truck really have ABS? that would be awesome because in a panic stop situation it gets pretty damn squirly when the back wheels lock up.

Is that a drunk question? Mine's got the same plus I found an empty relay socket that said "Air Bag". I guess I'm safe then.

not a drunk question at all... typically when it's not factory equiped it's deleted, it will still list on the box, but won't have the metal contacts like it would go somewhere and do something. my buddy swears that abs is the downfall of mankind. he always disconects it. it's saved my skinny a$$ enough times that i want it if it's available. i was just wondering if it was just a generic thing or not, but like i said it has the contacts in there, where usually it will be blank.

I know exactly what you are talking about, with the extra contacts and all. I've found alot of extra accessory harnesses in my Hijet, but I believe that there must be a standard harness for all trucks. I know for a fact that mine doesn't have ABS. There are no sensors at the wheels.

that's what i was thinking, i was looking at my rear end for a speed sensor at each wheel and on the pumpkin.. saw nothing and was expecting that it was just a "standard" type of thing... wish it had it though.

You can pretty much forget your truck having ABS. Aside from a spot in the fuse box for a relay and fuse, it would need the sensors and solenoids added as well. ABS would be a good thing for these trucks, since there is so little weight on those back tires, that I can pick up the back end of mine. I've done it once to get a garden hose out from under a tire.
