either upload the pix to photobucket.com and use the img code and add it as text to your post, or open the pix in photo editor of your choice and downsize them. then you can upload them without overloading.

That's a nice Sig. Unfortunately I live in one of the two states that doesn't have CCW. I did recently take a Utah CCW class (they are one of a couple states that allow non-resident permit holders) so when I travel I can carry in 29 states. I am currently in the market for a SA XD subcompact. My Cabela's points are adding up on my Cabela's card so hopefully soon!!

oh, you mean one of these?

this is my carry. i was apprehensive when i was in the market for one. my previous cary was a .380... but i wanted a nine. i was pleasantly surprised when i could put all 10 rounds from the short clip in a 6 in spot center mass at 15metres.

it came with a 16 round clip as well and that makes for a full size grip. i do pretty well with the short grip. haven't tried it since the hand surgery, may have to learn to shoot left handed now.

honestly worth the money for it. my buddy has an xd 40 and was himmin and hawin about buying it. the gunsmith told him to run at least a thousand rounds through it, and it if misfired once he would give him any gun he wanted. i was hoping it would misfire so he could get the desert eagle .50 :D

Are we considering Guns as toys here?
Well I do have something to make me feel safe whenever I'm out camping, 4 wheeling, fishing, or living in a major city. Sawed off to 18" - 12 gauge bolt action shotgun, Springfield tachacal XD 45, Colt Anaconda 44mag, S/W 357 mag, WWII Mauser, 7.65 HSC pocket pistol, and two Ruger 22's. These are just my non long gun, or shotguns.
My motto is.. you can never have too many motorcycles, guns, or gutiars..

Crap. I had a nice response with some pics of my own all written up and I guess I didn't "post" it! :frustration:

Anyhow, to add to Milt's response, you can even upload your pictures to the gallery here at Minitrucktalk. Then, when your posting your response, use the little icon that looks like a sun over some mountains and post the link.

Besides a couple of dozen bicycles of all sorts of flavors, here are my main "toys":

Steelyron,

Thanks for the extra photos. I would like to get a toolbox for my cargo bed. I need one that can hold a military-style gas container that is about 20 inches tall. I would also like to get some rumble seats or jump seats for extra passengers. Perhaps the toolbox could hold a cushon and be used as short-term extra seating. I am concerned about theft of the box and so would need some way of securing it.

Thanks,

Sam

Yes - Lucerne Valley is me. My shop is actually on hwy 18, but it turns into Old Woman springs.

I own 2 acres on the hwy there. The front large building has been a cowboy bar for years, but they finally moved out. My shop has been the back steel building (80x125) and yard, but now I can use the front building for my business. Lots of work ahead, but it will be fun and the expansion will make for more business (hopefully!). I plan to use it for sales of Military Surplus, Tractors, and miniMOGs. I usually have 20-30 miniMOGs, a dozen or so Deuces, lots of Military tires (anyone need some 53" Michelins for their truck?LOL), 20-30 tractors and everything that goes with em in stock so there is plenty to see! Anyone is welcome to stop in and check it out if you are in the area!

That sounds about right. My guys start at 4am and work till noon. Everything after that is by appointment. I live nearby and will open up for anyone who calls. I know that may sound a little different, but I get so busy that I cant take care of all the customers like I want to.

With the new "store" I may keep regular hours, ....I am still thinking all that out.

Now that I think about it some more, I think I did talk to him? Was he doing some kind of move? I remember talking to someone with a parts store because I used to own a NAPA store. If that was him, he was going to call me before he came out.

i have a few things in the garage right now that we're working with. the 69 camero just got a new motor and is waiting for all new plumbing. then the fuel cell in the trunk. the ford is the newest addition. we're thinking the rear suspension is a little weak and will start working with that soon. theres a honda 250 wedged in there somewhere and the x-terra is the daily driver. theres also a jetski and a bassboat under cover in the side yard...

There is my 65 AC Cobra replica. 5.0 L Supercharged vortech 8 PSI, Lakewood Scatter shield, Trick Flow: Cam, heads, intake. 42 lbs/hour injectors, 255 l/hour fuel pump 480-500 hp. Will see when it is Dynoed. Should be firing it up next week.

My S83P Super Deluxe is in there in the background, 06 Ram Diesel with programer and the good stuff 850 lb/ft torque 450 ish hp, 06 250 rm RC Replica that was stolen, 08 rm 250 I sold had about 4 hours on it, and I have another picture with my current bike 07 kx 250.

I also have a YFZ 450 quad with about 65 hp it is a 534 stroker 13.5:1 compression with 4 mm bigger valves, ported head, and bigger cams in the works of being built.

Here is the 07 KX 250 with Gold Excel wheels I put on after the second ride I hit a 8 inch tall rock with the rear wheel in a wheelie doing about 35 miles a hour bent the factory rim and nearly broke my neck. Note to self do not wheelie through stubble fields for as long and as hard as you can go.

Guns I will refrain from putting pictures up, Starpuss puts my collection to shame.

In the past I've owned a few sailboats, our first was a 15 ft "Sirocco". The next was our "one design" racing boat, a 24 ft "Shark" named "Leprechaun".

Then came my "dream boats"... I bought two sailboats from a bankruptcy sale, one being a 29 ft "Bayfield" cutter. The other was a 36 ft "Bayfield" cutter rigged Ketch named "Hakuna Mattata" , this was destined to be our "globe trotter" in which we had planned to circumnavigate the world. However my un-expected medical release from the Army left me rather "cash poor" and I was forced to sell my Dream :( .

Once my photo albums catch up with us in our move I'll post pics of my sweet yacht's :)

Ah well.... I'll have another someday, I'm certain I'll likely never get deals like those again.... but a bit of hardcore sleuthing just might get me another sailboat for a reasonable price :)

On another note... Milt I see the Falcon in your post... a good friend of mine has a "similar" car, his is a 1960 "Frontenac" check them out... made and sold only in Canada, very limited production run ;)

Here's something interesting. Its a Medusa model 47. made by Phillips and Rodgers.
It shoots everything from 38,9mm to 357mag using same cylinder and barrel. To my surprise it holds a really good group at 40ft. I only have about 18 rounds though it so far using 38's. Weren't very many built. it fits and feels good in the hand. Google Medusa model 47 and read the write up's.
2nd. picture is a Kimber 45 Ultra carry 2. Cool thing about this puppy you can carry it in your front pocket and anyone else cant tell its there. It is a fine fire arm.

92 Super Deluxe
11-30-2009, 09:58 AM
The Medusa is based off a S&W it was made by a NASA engineer that did competition shooting. It has 9 rifling grooves in the barrel where most have 6-8. It will shoot 25 cartiages based on the .357-.358 bullet, however it will not shoot a SIG 357. Cool gun I read up on it awhile ago.

I am buying a Ruger mini 30, and a Ruger MkIII hunter with the 6.88 inch fluted barrel for now. Next year I hope to get a centerfire pistol thinking 9 mm and the Steyr 50 cal.

No, I guess it's mostly hunters (for meat) and the odd gun collector that goes to the range for practice.

For sure not any sort of "status symbol" here though, we like to buy big fancy Ford F350's for that!

I was putting up my deer rifle today and thought ya'll might like to see my favorite shooter.
Its a Anschutz 22 mag. with double set trigger 3x9 Leupold. The 1st. owner was a airline pilot who flew in Europe. I am the 2nd. owner. This is the real deal, not imported by Savage. Its a Anschutz.... I picked it up at a estate auction about a year ago. I came across a 22 Lr Anschutz about two years ago and sold it about 2 weeks after I got it. At the time I could have kicked myself in the rear for not keeping it. I thought I would never come across another one in my life. Lo and behold a year later I picked up this 22 mag. The fun part about having this is taking it to a gun show and having everybody that knows this gun ask if they can hold it, touch it, fondle it, lick it, and on and on. I get a kick out of having gun dealers that offer 300/500 for it and I just smile and say I just bought it for 250.00 and its not for sale. Their eyes pop out, chin hits the floor, and they say where was it? Was it in here? What booth? Who had it? Can I look at it?
Its a true shooter. Tac driving son of a gun. Its certainly a keeper and will most likely be passed down in the family.

Hundy, just wanted to let you know I started at the beginning of the "100Dollarman" thread (over there) and read every post. You are one busy man - Glad your business is going so well.

Looking forward to the summer and patiently waiting for some more boat pics (the surrounding "Bacon" in the shots not bad either:D:D).

Still salivating for one of your custom "Bobbers" just got to keep adding to the piggybank and then figure how to get it about 3000 miles east.

By the way, you didn't "pick up" that 'stocker' you STOLE it!:D That was one sweeeet deal.

Anyway, good to see you pop-in over here once in a while. And I thought of miniMOG as a great asset to this Forum as well as the Kei-truck business.......later, slim

A buddy and my rifles from a little target practice last summer. Mine's the folding stock Kalashnikov, his two are the rifle... I forget what it is... and the other Kalashnikov. Now he has a crazy Russian red dot sight that makes shooting things like a video game lol. I like my AK but that sight is madness; we were plinking pop cans from 50 paces with 98% accuracy from a standing position the last time he was up. Good times.

mmm! the "folding stock Kalashnikov: is an AMD 65 an Hungarian weapon based on the AK 47 with a shorter barrel for tight quarters and carried by tank crews, officers and paratroops. The top one is Arsenal SA M7-R with a Milled Receiver based off a Bulgarian AK47 Kit and the bottom one is a CETME G3[Spanish] a copy of a HK91[German] built by Century Arms in the 308 caliber on a US. Receiver ;)

Just came across this little puppy yesterday at a estate sale in the Texas Hill Country. Its a Colt DA .38. Its was made between 1903/1904. "Model 1877 Colt Lighting" Typical law enforcement use. Double action, very smooth, good condition. Ive been hunting for one of these for yrs. and the waiting paid off.
It does have a small little rough spot on left side above the trigger.
Enjoy.

I got the gun bug about two yrs. ago. I have plenty of them and never intended to get anymore. But I came across a couple of Anshultz 22cal. manlicher's and thats when I got the the bug. Ive been going to estate sales for yrs. to buy farm equip. and when I noticed all the guns at the sales I picked up a few, Then I couldnt stop. Thats when the Colts started looking more interesting. I recently was at estate sale and saw 4 Colts go for 1200 to 2700 each. I decided to pay more attention. Well yesterday the two guys that buy most of the old guns and are always at these sales were no where to be found. I saw this little Colt and I started getting a knot in my throat. You know when you see the big buck. I called a good friend of mine that collects Colts and was holding this .38 in my hands telling him about before the sale started. Larry said, thats a rare bird and buy it under 1000. Well I paid way less than that. I called Larry on the way home, told him I got it and he got so excited I couldnt get him to shut up. Anyway if the other two guys had been there no way would I have got it. The couple of Colts I saw recently were in as good a shape as this one and I couldnt bring my self to pull the trigger so to speak. One thing about estate sales you have to go to everyone of them to get the best deals. If you go to them once or twice a yr. you may get a good deal but the odds are with you if you make all of them. I'll put this puppy in a glass case and let people enjoy it. Might take it to a few gun shows and show it it off a little bit.

this is what your guns is worth ( i got mine for under $700.00 and it works like a new gun. )

COLT DOUBLE-ACTION REVOLVERS
Model 1877 “Lightning” and “Thunderer”
The Model 1877 was Colt’s first attempt at manufacturing a
double-action revolver. It shows a striking resemblance to the
Single-Action Army. Sales on this model were brisk, with over
166,000 produced between 1877 and 1909. Chambered for
two different cartridges, the .38 Colt, known as the “Lightning,”
and .41 Colt, as the “Thunderer.” The standard finishes are
blued, with case-colored frame and nickel plate. The bird’s-
head grips are of checkered rosewood on the early guns and
hard rubber on the majority of the production run. The barrel
lengths most often encountered are 2.5" and 3.5" without an
ejector rod, and 4.5" and 6" with the rod. Other barrel lengths
from 1.5" through 10" were offered. The Model 1877 holds 6
shots in either caliber. There were quite a few different variations
found within this model designation. Values furnished are
for the standard variations. Antiques made before 1898 would
be more desirable from an investment standpoint. Note that
these revolvers have a reputation as “watchmaker’s nightmares”
and non-functioning examples command substantially
reduced prices.

Without Ejector, 2.5" and 3.5" Barrel
Exc. V.G. Good Fair Poor
3000 2000 800 500 350
With Ejector, 4.5" and 6" Barrel
Exc. V.G. Good Fair Poor
3000 1800 800 750 450
NOTE: Premium for blued guns add 25 percent. Premium
for shorter than 2-1/2" add 50 percent. .41 Caliber
“Thunderer” add 10 percent. Over 6" barrel add 50 percent.
London barrel address add 20 percent. .32 caliber add 50
percent. Rosewood grips add 10 percent.

Last week I did a little horse trading and obtained a 30.06 with a mauser action. the barrel was turned and placed on a sport stock. It has a 100.00 Walmart 3x9 Simions scope. The gun is about a 7 on a scale 1 to 10 in looks but sure does lay them in there. To my surprise this past weekend it will became one of my shooters. The pictures tell the tale. First picture, far right was the first shot. After tweaking a little bit the 2 left hits were close enough. Just for the heck of it the 2nd. picture was to see if it was really on. This was 100yrds out. Good enough for the girls I go out with.

Looks like a pair of civil war era duelling derringers to me. Very cool! I think Turner Kirkland/ Dixie Gun works made something that looked similar to those, but in a 41 cal I think. Take them to a local gunsmith or firearms expert at a museum.

funny how guns can be worth a lot off cash. two years ago my grand father died and he gave me an old side by side rifle(not a shotgun). i went into a gun store to get ammunition for it and the old guy working there offered me a bundle of cash for it direcly on the spot! that caught my attention so i told him i would think about it. he told me he could order some ammo for it but it would be very expensive for shooting racoons and rabbits. eventually i got a 20 round box off ammo for it (175.00 canadian dollars....) it turned out to be a holland and holland .478 cal with a very rare single triger witch would fire both shots!!!! made in britain around 1904. belivieve me the first time i pulled the trigger on a racoon i only found little bits of it... i sold it for a good amount of cash and bought myself a new truck. the truck was a little less damaging on my shoulder and the side of my face. you guys are lucky down south as for weapons. canada sucks for weapons regulation.
