Hello there

My girlfriend just got an '88 Acty dropside pickup in the UK (RHD, 545cc). We just drove it 200 miles back to her place (kind of hilarious as I'm 6'3" and had to set the window winder in exactly the right place to fit my knee so the indicator stalk had room to move etc. etc.:) )

Since we'd prefer not to fork out ₤40 for a manual for it, I'm hoping you can help me out with a few clues as to what's what - I've had a search on this forum first, but couldn't find exactly what I was after. So...

• On the LH of the truck under the chassis are (from L to R) a plastic water bottle, the petrol filler cap, and another filler cap. What's the water bottle for - radiator overflow? Doesn't seem to be the window wash bottle, as it's empty but there's water to squirt.
• Is the rightmost filler cap for oil? I'm assuming oil but I haven't found the radiator filler cap yet (unless it's under the screw-down 'radiator' plate behind the seat back).
• Where is the oil dipstick to be found?
• Where do you check radiator water level?
• Why are there tach (i.e. rpm x 1,000) numbers on the speedometer dial?
• what are the tyre size/specs?
• The door lock is kind of falling out of the driver's door - should it be held on the inside by a circlip, or what?

A fun little truckette - got 45 mpg on the big roads, so about 8.5 miles to the ₤ here. Sounds like a sewing machine on ketamine...

Thanks in advance for your time, I know this is a lot of questions at once, but I thought it'd be more efficient this way.

Wiper fluid tank is located under the passanger seat.
Plastic water bottle is the rad overflow.
Petrol tank then oil filler, dipstick is by the back wheel.
Rad cap is located inside on the passanger side under the dash. For ease of filling you take off the little shelf (4 screws) then you will see a hat shaped cap with a butterfly nut holding it down.
Stock tyre size is listed on the passanger side door piller. I used the tyres and rims from a VW Jetta (165/60 R14) and they do not rub.
The door lock is held in place with a gient "C" clip like all other door locks. They can be purchaced from any locksmith cheeper than a dealer.

I hope this helps, I am a fellow Acty owner that has been over the truck a few times.
