Step 3: Click "Create a New Social Group"
(http://www.minitrucktalk.com/group.php?do=create) http://www.minitrucktalk.com/uploaded_imgs/socialgroup/three.jpg

Step 4: Type in your "Group Name" and "Group Description". Also, select the "Group Type"

A. Public - Anyone can read and join this group.

B. Moderated - The creator can moderate whats posted and delete unwanted posters.

C. Invite Only - You will have to invite member to your group.

Then click "Save"

Step 5: After creating the group you can click on "Pending & Invited Members" to allow or invite others to join.

Messages that are posted in the groups are not viewable from the main forum pages. You will need to enter through your UserCP (http://www.minitrucktalk.com/usercp.php) to access the groups. Also, you can search groups to find one that you might want to join, but remember the Creator has the power to allow you in to his/her group.
Contact me if cannot figure out how to create your own Social Group.

Thanks!

*** Few Problems with Social Groups as of this version of vBulletin ***

1. The conversations are not totally private. Everyone can read just not post. (This will be fixed in the newest version.)
2. You will not be notified when there's a new post. (This also should be fixed.)

BRILLIANT!!

this forum is going back to the old days of no discussion of how to get around the laws that preclude these vehicles for road use. we understand they are legal in several states. we also understand it's against federal law, but the states do as they see fit... let it go, quit beating a dead horse. i see no problem helping other members in LEGAL states to get them going and on the road. from this point forward there will be NO MORE TALK ABOUT BREAKING LAWS AND GETTING THESE REGISTERED IN STATES THEY ARE NOT LEGAL IN!!!

i understand it is a grey area. for instance: in arizona they won't allow them on the road but have now allowed them to be registered with OFF ROAD plates. help your buddies out that are trying to get them registered for off road. don't discuss how to break laws and do it where it is strictly prohibited.

this will no longer be tollerated. period.

posts will be deleted, users will be reprimanded. if you want to discuss that, use your own email, telephone, telegraph or tell a woman. those are the types of things that will get this forum shut down. i'm not trying to spook anyone, i'm not trying to be a nazi about it, i've just had too many complaints from other members here and i'm going to lay down the law.

use kevin's method for private forums. for private stuff, but lets all remain friends here and not become elitists. and remember above all else, moderators can view those rooms too, so lets keep it clean and the bashing to a minimum.

cheers
milt

Yes-GREAT idea
I have had a few social things before,but never a social group-is there a cream for that:D

Will there be a way to see which groups have been created?
I like the idea of keeping this forum about minitrucking, and having groups for the other people to hash out government stuff:rolleyes:
The mods are earning their money now:eek:

Are we still allowed to give a little hazing to newbies???

Excellent!
This is a great way to give everyone what they want. I created a group to test this out.

Question:
Is there any supporting documentation or "Help" pages to go along with this? I was trying to figure out what the differences were in the group types: Public, Moderated, and Invite only.

I'll see what I can dig up. I'm glad to see people are in agreement with me on this one!

Thanks and lets keep this forum rollin!!

I want to be a moderator so i can go into the social groups too. :) I haven't been invited to ANY group. :) :) :) :) Well maybe not a moderator (too much work) but just a fly on the wall.

Seriously though can everyone see the groups that are formed or do you have to be invited to even know they exist?

Boy oh boy I need to get a tutor to learn how to read. :) WOW! I actually read the part about creating and then must have skipped past everything prudent. :)
