It looks like Customs is not required to post this as they did with the speed limiter enforcement. It has been posted on the EPA site and that is all that will be done!

At this point in time, the only solution is to conform with the ruling. Extensions will most likely be in short order.

As for my company, we will seek both. But one thing is for certain, I would not want to be the importer who attempts to clear a container on or after December 8th!

There are several people seeking conformity which can take up to a year. I don't think the trucks will disappear completely but supply will definitely be tight and I would expect to see US prices going up as a result.

Honestly, I don't think it will go up. Sounds like things are getting more confusing and the future of them are getting more cloudy. Hard to spend money on something that might not be allowed period. I was ready to get one and my brother, but if you can't even use them on state trails/parks, what do you do with them? Most people don't have 100 acres of their own to play on.

I sorta agree with you. I do have plenty of land here to drive mine on and have several uses for it around the property with yard work, but I would have never bought one if it wasn't for that and the low price verses the UTV's. Actually, I might even sell mine and make a profit if the prices do go up. I'm not sure if the "parts market" will be around very long if they stop the importation of the trucks.

I doubt importation of trucks will stop altogether and I'm sure parts will still be possible to get. Goodness, my sambar is no different than an 08 model mechanically, so I doubt they will stop making parts for the sambar in japan anytime soon. And so long as they are making parts, I'll be able to get them. And on some parts, you can find equivalent parts that are made by different, local companies.
The Tatanka trucks are starting to come into my area as well, so that's another option. I haven't seen an Okla.-built tiger truck yet.
People here can justify the $8500-$14000 price range because you can use them as real vehicles.
