not sure if these things are two or four stroke. smells possibly two, sounds two stroke. what oil should i use. need some, got both but not sure which two use. thanks jason/liz
I've run into some random equipment that i wasn't sure of without inspecting and a good rule of thumb is...If it has a dipstick, oilfilter and an oilpan its 4stroke oil for the engine. If otherwise, you're mixing 2cycle oil in the fuel or adding it to a separate resevoir. These little trucks do rev like a bike but i'm pretty sure they are all 4stroke.

That's my thinking as well, I think that all Kei trucks be it 550 cc 2 cylinder or the 660 cc 3 & 4 cyl engines are all 4 stroke.
A good baseline for oil is 10W30 if your not freaking freezing your you know whatsit off  then 5W30 or 0W30 would work for your situation.
If your smelling oil in the exhaust then possibly there is other things that need to be checked on the engine

I'm pretty sure alot of the older 360cc and 550cc engines are two stroke. Do a search for "2 stroke" up there^^^ in the google custom search. You'll find some threads.

usually there is a reservoir for oil for the 2 strokes so that it will mix the oil with the fuel... take a look around and check all your reservoirs and see if one is for oil.
