Hey there - I'm trying to find a shop that carries or will order a new battery for me. Currently I have a Panasonic 40B19L and I know that the Yuasa
40B19L is a valid replacement. I pretty sure that I can eventually get one from somewhere - but I am hoping to find a shop kind of close to home. Any advice would be helpfull.
(The battery is not dead, and I know I can charge it - but to me batteries are like tires and every now and then you have to replace them. So with that in mind I have started my search early.)

I just use off the shelf batteries when I need one. I measured what my maximum dimension can be and I get a garden tractor type battery. I use a battery without the round ends (pencil type). the battery has lugs for bolting the leads on.

I take the old pencil wire lug and cut off all but the flat end with the hole in it. Then I just run a bolt through it and athe job is done. So now whenever I need a new battery I just walk into my auto parts store and pick up one of the same batteries. It happens they have two types. Regular and a higher ampere model. I just grab whichever is on the shelf.

Runs the trucks fine including the power dump motor on the Dump trucks.

Hope this helps. I just didn't feel the need to so with a special order battery.

Hey check out our post about a get together in Michigan in May...weekend of the 23rd. You are close enough and we invite all of our Canadian Neighbors.

I sometimes have some used one available.
One of my customers found a replacement battery (even came with the pencil thin posts) at a lawn and garden outlet, so I know if you call around you should be able to find..

They had the Yuasa battery for mine at the Interstate Battery Store.

thanks for the input guys - I decided to make a few mods so that I could use any standard 51R size battery. Had to lengthen the battery tray a bit and also the hatchway hole under the seat - but now I have almost 2x the cold cranking amps and 20 more reserve minutes. The 20 minutes will help 'cause I leave my lights on by mistake way too much.
