Hi Everybody

I am in the market to buy an all terrian vehicle for hunting on my ranch!!!! I am looking at different options and i really like mini trucks due to thier bed that you can add hi rackers, game racks, etc!!! I went to a university and i had a friend that worked on the campus and he has a 2 wheel drive mini truck that was pretty cool!! I want to know a couple of things about these trucks and see what info i can gather!! 1) The most important thing i want to know is how loud is a mini truck compared to a 4 wheeler or a polaris ranger etc??????? Is there a way to silence these mini trucks??? 2) which one is the best made ie: breaks down less?? 3) which one is the best 4x4 model for mud and rock hilly uneven terrian??? 4) which one is the easiest to lift?? 5) which model can you buy maitanance parts for at local part store??? I know i am asking alot of questions but i want to know if a mini truck is right for me the most important thing like i said is how loud are they??? well thanks everyone who responds i appreciate your time and help!
Thankyou
Lucas

Hi,

I have a '99 Suzuki that is extremely quiet. More so than my friends four wheelers or Mules.Difficult to hear it running from 10' away.

Four wheel drive performance is very good so far. It has climbed a loose rocky hill at my place in west Texas that is a 415' length that has an elevation change of 185'. I don't know what angle that is, but it's reasonably steep. It went right up with very little wheel spin. I've not tried it in mud yet.

Mine is a five speed with a hi and lo transfer case, but both the rear and the front are not lockers. Hopefully, soon I will be adding a diff lock to the rear.

Just into them myself, but it seems that there are as many Suzuki's as all other makes combined!

Most dealers can get you the uncommon parts within a week. Spark plugs, filters, bearings are all stuff you can get at a decent auto parts store.

They run extremely quietly, much quieter than recreational UTV's. A good muffler shop can put on a good quality muffler at a resonable price if you find it's not quiet enough. But 660 CC through an automotive muffler sized for 3 times that, they should be quiet.

You can find models with 2 speed transfer cases that should give good off-roadability. And then there are models with both rear and front lock-ups, turns them into veritable mountain goats! Especially with the heavy front-end bias they have.

As far as lifting, they are all about the same, spacers for the front and long shackles in the rear, unless you want to get elaborate.

Dude, I've done some huntin in South Texas and if I were you I would only buy a K-truck that had diff-lock, AND axle lock. Those cyndero's are slimy when wet, and with all the wash outs, you need ALL wheels pulling for ya. That's some rugged terrain! I drove 16 hours for 10 years in a row to South Texas just to shoot stinky flea infested pigs. I loved every minute of it to!
I envy you Southtexashunter!!!!!
