1991 ACTY fouling plugs/backfiring thru carb intake

has anyone had a Acty not start and fouling the plugs with fuel and backfiring intermittently thru the carb while cranking? I have replaced the entire carb. with a know good one,replaced plugs,fuel pressure is within specs and has great spark at the plugs and I still have the same problem-this all started after i washed the engine several weeks ago,engine was running and at operating temp-it ran for 10-15 min, lost power and died and now it floods/backfires while trying to start!:confused:

Try popping off your distributor cap wiping it out with a dry cloth and then spray a light coat of WD-40 inside it. It sounds like its "chasing" spark inside the cap.......later, slim
