View Full Version : engine oil??
OK. So I finally got a truck. (91 Sambar). What viscosity (not another brand war please!!) should I use? I'm guessing 5/30.

10w30 or 10w40 has been the most common requirements for these trucks.

for winter in Sask, 5w-30 would be the ticket. i have 10w-30 in my Acty and its been starting fine with no engine heat source and parked outside.

I've got 10w40 in my Sambar right now and it still starts/runs fine. The outside temperature is -5°F and I'm using the OEM-style little itsy bitsy pretend battery. :)

Hi,
I live in Calgary and the winter temperatures in the top of the season are between -20 and -30. So it seems to me the best engine oil should be 5w30. Does anybody use that in the same climate environment as i am?
