Hello all. I have a carb prob. My '89 Hijet will not run unless I hold the choke butterfly all the way closed. I can rev the fire out of it with the choke butterfly closed but can't give it any throttle with the choke open:frustration:. Any helpful hints will be appreciated.

Not real familiar with these mini trucks yet, but back in my days as a mechanic, that is a classic case of a vaccum leak. It's sucking air from somewhere besides the air intake. Look for broken vaccum hoses or a bad carb gasket.
Hope this helps.

my 96 Midget is like this . big flat spot just as you give it the gas . two inch turbo muffler and pipe didn't help at all. have found no leaks , put in a can of carb cleaner and shot it with carb spray. so far no help. i think that i need to go up a jet size but haven't found a kit for it yet , can't even find a name on the carb.
