What's Wrong?????????????

Got in my Hijet and drove for a short distance and noticed thermostat said it was running hot. I stopped and put water in it. The water started pouring out the bottom. Got under it and noticed what appears to be a "plug" in the front of the block behindwhat I think is the water pump. Looks like that is where the water is leaking from.

Is this a freeze plug on the block? I really don't know what I'm looking at. My initial thought was that I had a cracked block with the recent temperature below freezing. Anybody got any ideas??????

Would have to look at my motor but sounds like a freeze plug. IF the plug lays flat alot of times sediments build up and rust them out faster.

I tested the coolant with a refractometer and found it safe to only about 0 where we run to -35 here.
