I bought a 97 hijet w/29000km in july to replace an f150. used it for irrigating all summer. i got 30 mpg constantly with it. i love the size and being able to reach anything in the bed from either side. i put 23-8-12 carslile all trails on in sept. rides great but a bit slower. excellent farm ranch truck. almost need another for the kids. Hauled my generator/welder, bales, spilled corn and even a rincon once.

I love my truck. I have pics of mine in the spotters section of it stacked nearly to the top of the cab with crap to take to the dump. Mine also replaced an F150, althout my F150 sits temporarily out of commission to what seems to be a bad fuel pump. I very much need to get it fixed, so I can get rid of it.

Glad to hear you love the truck. I know I love to run around the farm in my personal truck. I also have a nice truck that we take to car shows and other weekend events. If you go to our website you can see my pride and joy. It is the silver truck (www.grimports.com) just wait i think it is the 3-4 truck that fades in on the front page. We put a huge stereo and amp in it and we are the life of any party. We also have a truck that has a refigerator instead of a bed. Perfect for hauling "soda"..... ;)

Mike,

You have some great looking trucks! And your parts department is great, Derrick is very helpful.

I wish you had a gallery on your website, where we could browse the pics of your trucks. It is sorta hard to catch all the details as the pics fly by. Just a suggestion.

Thanks,

Ive been getting tired of the stuff i have to keep in the cab with me being winter and all so i built a small box to keep some tools and such in. Now to find some paint.
Feel free to copy the idea.

The 48" tool boxes you can get at TSC work great as well. I painted the dianomd plate with a flat camo to reduce the glare. I have inserts designed for my bow, guns, or pull inserts out for when it is time to work and fill full of tools.

I hauled our rincon in it once to spray along side the irrigation pipe once this summer.
1 Diahatsu Hijet...$6000 Hauling 1 Rincon...$7000 With 25 gallons of Roundup in the sprayer...$900 All the looks getting to the field...Priceless.
The road was soft and under 3-4 inches of water at the time. I didn't have the all trails on the hijet yet.
I sloped the top and used 12ga steel all around in case I have to park on or up against it when I haul another 4 wheeler. I also used a hood shock for my new yorker. It holds the lid open and closed the way I mounted it. The lid doesn't rattle, I don't have a latch, I can park an atv on it and it stays dry well. I have my other reciever hitch, a tow strap, jumpers, some tools, and some winter clothes in it. Sure is nice to only have to find room for my thermos and cup up front. now only to find a cup holder............

yeah I would like to see the inserts as well. I have a small toolbox that would work well for a gun/bow caddy.

My gun inserts are at the ranch, but I think I brought my bow shelf home. I'll look tonight. It is easy, for the gun measure the square flat bottom part of the toolbox and cut a plywood bottom to match out of 5/8" to 3/4" plywood but short enough to get in and out.

Then I took true, may have to plain a 2x down to 1"x6"x approx 46" long -3 boards for 2 guns, screwed them to plywood, then cover. Cut ends of boards at 45 degree so removal is easier. A straps on each to Keep guns in place.

The bow rack is more a shelf based on the way my box is made. About 6" from the top there is an indention in the front and back of the box that I cut a plywood shelf to fit, foam on top with velcro straps to hold every thing tight. You could have both inserts in at the same time, but it would take a little effort to get to your guns if you bow on top. I'll post pics if I can.
