Stuck Spark Plug

Changing plugs on my 92 Jumbo,first two go fine but the last one does not wont to turn at all.It fills like the threads are pulling out,so I left it in for now.Any body have a trick to get the plug out or am I looking at a motor pull down the road.:mad::mad::frustration:

The sound of that makes me cringe. Warm the engine to operating temp. Pour icy cold water on the plug, then quickly give it a try. Other than that brake fluid or automatic trans fluid makes a great penetrant.

all isn't lost, you can get a repair kit & fix it in the truck . i've done this a few times.

larryn2o how do you get in there to fix it.You must have little arms and hands.I am a big guy,its all I can do to fill the plug.:) :)

mine has a cover over the top of the motor. and if i take the splash plate off the bottom then you can get to it all easily.

I just had a HiJet in the other night and could not even get a socket to fit on the plugs to get them out. Does anyone have a plug wrench that came in their truck? I got one in my first HiJet ever and gave it away with the truck thinking that every truck would have one in it. This is a gold colored grade 8 looking deeeeeep socket with a hole in the top to put a small rod to get it to turn. Anyone seen one or even have one they would sell? Thanks...

i must be missing something or my motor isn't the same. i had no trouble changing my plugs with a standard socket and ratchet?

I got to mine with a 13/16 plug socket.

We had to have a 5/8 socket turned down as much as possible and it works great now, if you have a machine shop handy just have one turned down and you should be fine

Thats why I was thinkin that the lug wrench that comes with the truck would work. It is very thin walled and about the same size therefore could be mistaken for a sparkplug socket. Although I havent tried to remove my plugs yet.

I always put some anti seize on any thread that I might want to get loose later, especially in aluminum. Too bad that the last person didn't put some on your plugs. Good luck.

Stop a tool truck like snap-on or Mac, Cromwell... I have sets of thinwalled sockets from them that work on the plugs. also might check the lawnmower shops. they have the stamped steel tool kits for the small equipment like trimmers and chainsaws.
