Welcome fellow Kentuckian.

Would think insuring it would be like for an ATV. Recommend you start talking with your insurance agent. If they aren't familiar with mini's, you will probably be part of their education process.

I made my wife contact the insurance agency. She said that they looked at her like she was from mars but 5 days later got a card in the mail. Yes, it is insured similar to a farm utility vehicle.

With Kansas Farm Bureau, We Insure ATV's like vehicles. I don't know If KY even has Farm Bureau, but state to state can be very different anyway. The best thing anyone can do is get a personal umbrella policy.

I have my hijet insured with State Farm in Ne. At fiirst she didn't know what to do. I told her that they were licenced in SD and I thought in WY also as atv's. If she had questions maybe call an office in those states. I have liability, 25k med, 250 comp and 250 coll. The premium is about the same as my last 84 F150.

"in Kansas" if you pay premium for liability coverage- the company has to pay the claim. In Kansas we don't have to register any ATV. We do write insurance on ATV's just like a car. A mini truck is an ATV.

If they have any questions, I can give you the name of my agent. They have insured a few of these trucks, and know what to do, and who to call to get them into the system.
