How can I tell what year I have?...

I have a Subaru Sambar. It is full time four wheel drive with a supercharger on it. But the tail gate has a TC instead of SC. I have looked all over this thing. How can one tell the year model of this thing.

look at the seatbelt. there should be a tag on it. pretty accuarte as long as it hasn't been replaced

Anyone know how to convert the VIN into a model year. My Sambar has this on the driver door frame:

Does this mean its a '94? Where can I get more info on these things and perhaps a shop manual?
