I bought another Minicab to play with recently. It came with two motors/trans in the bed (all in pieces). Since I had to build a new motor I decided to see what kind of power increase I could get out of one. I started off getting the biggest oversize pistons (1.0mm over 66mm piston) which make it a 667cc (stock is 647cc). I doubt I will notice a difference... I use to be in the performance machine business so decided to do some quick port work on the head and intake. I did not take any pictures of the intake and I should have to show you guys. Anyways, the intake has a cast wall in it to divert the fuel to the last (furthest port away from the carb) and is a huge restriction to airflow. I cut this out of the intake and knife edge the ports inside the intake. I also straightned the main carb entry port so it has a straight shot to all runners. On the head, I ported the bowls and runners on the exhaust side and intake side. To be honest the runner design on the head is very nice already. I just cleaned them up and opened the entry and exits on the ports. I took some pics before I polished them. I will let you guys know how it runs after I get it back together.
