Hello. I'm new to mini trucks and also to minitrucktalk. I recently acquired a 2013 Mitsubishi U62T at an auction, and am looking for any and all info I can get. After pretty thoroughly searching this site, I'm not seeing much on the 2013 U62T.

Can anyone tell me if the James Danko service manuals for the U62T cover the 2013 model? I will happily purchase the manuals if I can confirm they apply to my vehicle.

Does anyone know where I can find an English owners manual? I'm looking for what should be simple info, such as the meaning of dash indicators and fuse box icons.

And lastly, what are your favorite sites for parts? I have already ordered a clutch kit from G&R Imports with great success.

    Thanks in advance.

Hey, nice find! Post a pic... I've got a U44 so may not be much help but I can get you on the right track.

First, I thought vehicles needed to be 20-25 years or older before importing to the US? Is that not true, would be curious to know.

Those james danko manuals really suck unless you need an engine rebuild, and there have been folks mention those specs are way off too. I threw mine in the trash and was able to make more sense of things by using parts diagram blow outs.

I don't think english manuals exist since these vehicles were asian based but I could be wrong. Their counterparts, like the Pajero and other vehicles with similar motors in South America may have english manuals but you probably don't need one yet.

Google Lens / Translate is your friend for translating the Japanese fuses and other info around the vehicle. As for the dash indicators post a pic here we can probably figure it out

    Parts / Repair information
    • Don't rely on vendors in the US unless your desperate / lazy / can't surf the internet. Their pricing will of course be higher than if you purchase from overseas directly
    • The link below is your best resource for parts diagrams and figuring out part numbers. You can order other US vehicle parts here to, I get all of my Toyota stuff from them
      >> https://partsouq.com
    • Amayama is not as good for parts diagrams but they have a lot of aftermarket options and OEM options
      >>https://www.amayama.com/en
    • 500yenshop.com is sort of a broker for Yahoo and Rakuten Japan. Some folks have used them with good results

    • Always enter your VIN and contact them if you have questions.

    • Partsouq will ship quicker than Amayama but they are both reliable sources. You can email them with questions and they respond quickly.

Thank you for the reply. The information you provided is much appreciated.

I am completely new to minitrucks, and only found out about the 25 year import restriction after my purchase. I bought it from a local estate sale/auction, and have no history on the vehicle, other than what I have been able to dig up online. It came with a dealer plate from a 4x4 business that no longer appears to be in business, http://clearfork4x4.com. Google lists the business as "Permanently Closed" and the phone number is dead. The site has another 2013 listed now, which has the same customizations as mine. http://clearfork4x4.com/product/2013-mitsubishi-u62t/. The site, as well as the matching Facebook account, don't seem to have been active past 2020.

I looked up my chassis number on https://www.japan-partner.com/check-manufacture-year.html, and the details there matched the metal tag inside the door of my truck. This site indicated it was a 2013. I also cross-checked the seatbelt label, and again, 2013.

There is one final note that you might find interesting. On the side of the engine, just below the spark plugs, there is a label printed in English that has been affixed over a Japanese label. It refers to emissions control certification. My understanding of the 25 year import restriction is that those vehicles are exempt from current US emissions requirements. Is it possible to get a newer vehicle certified to US standards upon import? I'm attaching a photo of the label for reference. The company referenced on the label has a minimal website, so not leads there.

I appreciate your feedback on the James Danko manuals. I am glad I held off on purchasing them.

I have used Google Translate for labels in and around the truck. As of now, I have managed to resolve the questions I had regarding fuses and instrumentation.

Your post also triggered a thought to look for Japanese manuals, and translate them. I did find a 2023 manual on the Japanese Mitsubishi site. Though it's still not absolutely specific to mine, I have another good point of reference there.

Again, I really appreciate the pointers. I have much to learn.

Cool that's a good looking truck, nice find. I'm not experienced at all in the export / registration process. That emissions sticker is a good sign, maybe these baby engines don't fall under the same rules as the bigger vehicle imports. Very possible that you will have some options to register this. IDK where to begin, check with your DMV and hope you get someone willing to chat. Either way, you got it here so nice work.

Post back here with progress / questions, good luck.
