So I have a 992 Mitsubishi MiniCab U42T 3G83. It has never ran 100%, especially in the cold. When I purchased it, someone removed the carb and put an aftermarket carb on it. All the vacuum lines had been butchered. I have found some of them, but there are others I have no idea where they go. It seems the old carb had several different vacuum lines that ran off of it. With that carb removed, how do you run all the vacuum lines? Right now I have nothing running from the distributor, Where do I connect that? I am wondering if that is part of my problem. Does the vacuum line off the distributor affect the timing? Does any one have a vacuum diagram for this engine so I can check everything? I have searched the forum but it looks like most links are dead.
So are those the original lines still hanging around? You'll have to try and find someone with the same motor to post a picture otherwise it will be tough to know for sure. IF those are the original lines maybe you can match up length / bends and try to see where they used to go. I see a lot of folks mention the 3g83 motor, start Googlin' and try to find pictures of the engine bay.
partsouq.com and amayama.com both have diagrams and parts lists for Minicabs and Bravos, though they can be a bit tricky to decipher. I also own a translated service manual for 1990-1998 Minicabs and Bravos and I could send you scans of the diagrams you need. I don't have the book on me at the moment but I can send those to you tomorrow if you want! You also can buy the book here, it's pretty pricy but I've found it to be an extremely helpful investment and it's well worth the money if you ask me. It's also significantly cheaper via Amazon.
