Honda Acty "disappearing idle" issue

Hello! First time poster, but have been reading up on Acty information for a month or so now.

Recently (as of last month), my brother has purchased a 95' Honda Acty HA4 (details in signature), and I have been allocated as the "Household Kei Truck Mechanic / Caretaker". Ever since getting the truck, it did NOT want to run / start once it got warm, no matter what we did. I worked through that and a few more underlying issues. However, as of fixing the "wont start / run when warm" issue, a plaguing issue has stumped me and everyone else I have contemplated it with.

Most of the time, the little truck will happily start, idle, drive, and do everything we ask of it. However, every so often it refuses to idle on its own. It will still start, run, and drive in this state if I'm "acting as the idle". But, the more confusing aspect of this problem is that after driving a bit, the problem can suddenly vanish (ie: issue happens pulling out of parking lot, but doesn't happen at stop light 1/2 mile away), and the issue seems to happen no matter the temperature of the truck / exterior.

    -----------------------------------------------

Of the things I currently think it can be:

    - It could be sediment in the fuel tank getting up to the carb, which only clogs only the idle jet, and after a period of driving, the sediment gets unclogged from the jet (and goes somewhere)
    - Other people seem to blame the catalytic converter, as it can get filled up and restrict the throughput enough that it refuses to work at lower rpms, and might clear it out in the higher rpms
    - There is just something wrong with the carburetor, and its time to rebuild it (jets, solenoids, vacuum lines, coolant choke "sensor", the choke mechanism itself)

Of the things that has been fixed / tested as of writing this:

    - The distributer cap, rotor, spark plug wires, and the spark plugs themselves have been replaced
    - The ignition module (that sits on the distributer housing) has been replaced (as that seems to be the main cause of the "no start / run when warm" issue mentioned previously
    - The fuel filter has been replaced with an inline filter (non-factory)
    - The fuel pump definitely works
    - The engine air filter has been replaced with a close-to-factory one with a 3D printed adaptor
    - A few vacuum lines have been replaced, along with the "Oil pressure sensor valve", as they were brittle and broke apart
    - The main solenoids in the carburetor have been previously tested (both the air and the fuel one) and work (though was not tested while issue was going on)
    - The idle has been adjusted from 1k to ~1,250 rpm

Is there anything else I might be missing in trying to solve this problem? I am open to ANY AND ALL ideas on how to solve this, except selling it / replacing the engine lol

I had a problem with intermittent stalling at stops when engine is warmed up. Solenoids clicked when tested in the carb. Then one day it lost power, limped home, did tune up and it would barely run. Pulled carb and replaced both solenoids. The big one had failed (air vent cut solenoid) and I think it was intermittently failing when I was having the stalling issue. Like others have said if they are original, just replace them. After I pulled my carb and replaced them, the engine cranked for about 10 seconds, then fired up like normal, then a few slight adjustments. Hope you get it. Don’t sell or replace engine yet.

    Welcome to the forum.

I would think that (the solenoids are already on order, but they are taking their time getting here), but whenever I take a moment to check, they work as they should (tested using an adjustable bench power supply). And if they were the cause, then why would the Acty start/run when I actively control the throttle myself, as I would think it is "dumb" enough to not have it be a hidden ECU somewhere doing this

Quick update: Finally had an opportunity to drop the tank (in between the flurry of repainting and bodywork), and it most certainly had crap in it (not a tank full, but enough to think my "clogging of idle jet" idea might be it). The tank has been emptied, washed, cleaned, and is now sitting out to dry during this warm spell here in the NE
