1997 Hijet S110P GS had a few issues at purchase, fuel was the biggest.

This is a weird beast as coolant runs through the carburetor and finding replacement car s or info has been tough!

I had seen people have success with running aftermarket options, available for the 83, so I gave that a shot, fabricating an adapter with coolant bypass.
Though I did manage to get it running, idle and drive, the carb response was poor regardless of adjustment.

    HERE WAS THE SOLUTION:

This motorcycle carb relies on gas and air, was installed in about 2 hours (shortening throttle cable was toughest part without a dremel).

Truck fired right up (without a single adjustment) and drove laps around the ranch.

    I am one happy camper!

    How hard was access?
I may need to do the same thing.
We need a sticky thread just for EF-GS motors.

    Access was easy!
I did have the bed off, but even with the bed back on, there is plenty of room to do the job (and any adjustments can be made to the carb by reaching under the truck.

Install should take maybe 2 hours if you need to shorten your throttle cable (I did), or as little as 30min if cable is the right length

Here is a picture installed and running, but before I cleared and cleaned out remaining useless vacuum lines and parts

Btw: the coolant lines that go to the stock carb can completely be bypassed!

Just behind alternator is the "supply" line to manifold/carb. I just ran a hose straight to the intake (top left hose in pic)

How about Choke for cold mornings?

It does have a choke on it (and a few different jets, though stock works just fine for me)

    So a cable choke.
Maybe put choke handle between seats?

    Who made the carb?

The carb is a Nibbi and I put the choke know at the seat base close to the shifter
