speed limiters

what kind of speed limiters do these trucks have and how do you get rid of them. my truck has a rattle noise as you increases rpm is this the limiter or a exhaust rattle hard to tell, any ideas?

Its probably exhaust rattle. the governors on most of these trucks are electronic. search the forum for "governor" and there are many discussions on the legalities of altering this federally mandated device.

Most limiters would actually be a metal plate that is welded on and limits the shifting to just 1st gear and reverse. If you can shift into other gears, then its most likely exhaust rattle.
