    Default Trans Temp

Came back from a 5 mile trip on some of the back roads. I got out and felt the transmission. Quite hot to the touch. I was a little surprised. I just changed the oil in it to 75-90W royal purple so I know the trans is full. Is it normal that the trans heats up enough that you can't hold your hand on it for very long?

    Default trans heat

when my clutch started slipping due to a faulty pressure plate, the beel housing on the trans became hot enough to cook on it p.s. you don t need a lot of slippage to heat up the trans. i may be wrong on your problem but check if the rear of trans is the same temp ass the front. bye

Just replaced the clutch and pressure plate 2 weeks ago. Doubt its that. Just wondering if its normal for the trans to be hot after driving the truck.
