Default Can you body lift a Kei?

I here folks talk about problems lifting a Kei and causing strain on the differential.
Is there a way to do only a body lift and not a suspention lift, and would this fix the clearance problems for larger wheels and tires?

    Default There's an idea

I did not think of that. especially if you combine them to give you the clearance for larger tires without the CV angle problems. I know alot of guys that have done just that on their Samurai's to achieve the desired results without the headaches of drive line issues. On a personal note, I probably would not go more than a 1" body lift...

    Good question

    Default why only one inch?

I saw a post the other day that had a photo of a Kei that they said had 14 inch wheels and was lifted 8 inches. I assume that was a combination of body lift and suspension lift.

From what I have seen. These trucks are all uni-body. In other words the frame and body are one piece. The closest I have seen to a body lift is lifting the bed. You can however space the front suspension cradle to obtain lift, like aftermarket companies (SkyJacker, ProComp, etc..) do on full size trucks w/IFS.

    Default Thanks

I thought they might be Uni-Body. That pretty much takes care of that question.

It was my understanding that this was a body lift. This is a truck from wtnminitrucks and is in the gallery. You might want to contact him and ask.

FYI After discussion in another thread, it appears that the Subaru is not a uni-body. I'm not sure on the specifics of lifting it though. Keith, I believe the one you have pictured is a Subaru.

Yep. It's definitely a circa '90-92 Sambar (note round headlights!)

Even though it wouldn't meet my needs at all, I just love looking at this thing!
