just dropping a line to say hi as im new here and a pic of my sambar..
My new hand me down Sambar..
Love it and thrash it daily.. bit bored so make some decals for it... added some 10mm foam layer behind and under the seats cause its cold as in winter or was anyway now hot as hell..
Also changed the air filter the other day and there was a lot of rusted/oiled metal shavings in the filter box anyone one have a similar finding?
Are there any other sambar forums around?
cheers and thrash on..![]()

Nice Sambar! Looks newer .. what year is it? And where are you? In Canada we can't get them unless they are 15yrs old at least (that is my understanding anyway).
Anyway, welcome to the forum.

thanks for the welcomes.. and yes im in japan.... its a 2003 and yeah photo looks great.. its was the father in laws work truck... use to drive around with rubbish alloy wheels in the back all the time so thats rooted... plus wife smashed the door reversing once... and a few more dents here and there... bit a shame really... just cause i like it so much.. and its mad in the wet... 1st 2nd and 3rds... wheel spin no problem... and that sweet revving engine out back... these are by far the best of the k-trucks... shame there was no turbo version...
mmm.. Turbo from what i know was an older version later ones no turbo... as for prices.. cheap as chips for example
$0 - $8,000new base model as seen in the link..

Hey jessf
Turbo was on older models from what i know and they were 3cyl.. don't quote me on that though..lol K trucks arn't that expensive here.. Mine was a hand me down from the father in law... as he bought the latest and last of the sambars... the legend is over... anyway i can't imagine they would have gave him more than $200 trade in.. and yeah that one on rightdrive was mint for its age..(ogichans... grandpa owned for sure) but here you could buy a new one starting at CAD $ 8000.. and parts are plenty k cars/trucks account for about 60% of the market i think... check my new post sambar candy
