Well the coil is not getting any voltage,Are there any fuses to look for in hidden places, or inline? I would need analog to see if was breaking,or will just a test light work. Its too
fast for a digital meter .Is that right?
Usually you can find a fuse or just hot wire the + side of the coil but Im not sure on the electronic ignition. Make sure key is on.
ok thanks .i thought about hot wiring the coil ,but was also unsure if it would hurt the electronic ignition.im going to do some backtracking in the wiring this weekend.I wont have anytime the rest of the week to do anything on the truck.i will let you know what i find.Come to think of it ,i thought i heard something strange( like a fuse pop) when i went to start it the second time around. I really appreciate all your help and time with this truck.
Your trucks not like mine and you might try for some help from owners like yours. I would say follow the hot wire and find the fuse and go from there for safety to your ignition system.
Ok thanks i will do that
i found the power problem to the coil, dirty connection .But have power on both sides of the coil when the key is on.not while cranking.
