    Default Steering Problems

My 1996 Daihatsu Hijet is pulling too the right. My local tire shops seem unwilling/unable to put it on the rack and do any front end alignment work. Is there any adjustment I can make to try and correct this steering problem myself?

you can use a cheapie laser level and try to adjust the tie rods till the front and rear of the front tires are equidistant from the laser line (actually a tight string would work as well, but many of the laser levels have a built in magnet and can be stuck to the truck body somewhere that is in a straight line front to back)...not a perfect solution but can get you close to dead straight...My local alignment shops have no issue putting my truck on the alignment machine...

Thanks. I have been told that there is no adjustment for caster and camber for this vehicle. Is that correct????

Thanks for the info. Another question then.... With no caster/camber adjustment, will setting the toe correctly solve my steering problem (pulling to the right)?

it will as long as there are no other issues with the vehicle that are causing it to pull...sticking brakes, bad wheel bearing, worn suspension bushings, seized tie rod ends, tight upper strut bearings..can all cause a vehicle to pull...as can uneven tire pressures
