Got a DB in the shop that has a slow starter. Pulled it and found these #'s, It appears the Suzuki # on starter is 31100-70 D1 The starter is made by Mitsubishi and also has the Mits. number M2T49581. I dropped it off at my electric shop to have it rebuilt and when Steve looked at it he said it looks just like a Suzuki Swift starter. He bench tested and said if anything it most likely needs a good cleaning but was confident he would have the parts if needed. This starter also fits a Cushman Truckster and some Suzuki outboard motors. Before calling any mini trk part suppliers do yourself a favor and look around a little bit. I saw prices from 160.00 to 350.00 for new ones.
FYI>>>My electric shop called late Friday afternoon and said after they tore the starter apart, it needed more attention then a good cleaning. There was a few pcs. that were rusted and one pcs. that needed to be ordered, rebuilt price would be 90.00 and some change. If I wanted a brand new one that was 145.00. I opted for the new one but going ahead and rebuilding the old as a spare.
