What kind of coolant is safe for a 1998 daihatsu ?

It was running outside, about -25 temp, and it blew some coolant out of the overflow onto the ground.
I think it slushed up and restricted flow in the rad, but the rad is warm now, so must have thawed out.

So looks like I'll have to drain it and add better coolant.

Just the pre-mix stuff from gas station?

Well, ended up testing the antifreeze, it was only good to -18.

Took the bottom rad hose off, let it drain for 5 minutes, came back, and filled it with pre-mixed antifreeze.
Kept slowly adding, revving it up, and slowly adding more and more.
Eventually the heat started pumping out hot air, so we knew we were on the right track.

Ended up taking almost the whole 3.78 liter jug, put the rest in the expansion tank.

4 days of driving, seems to be perfect.

Tested to -45 or so after the new coolant.

In my world over the yrs. most of the Daihatsu's straight from Japan will have RED Toyota fluid. However a few have had standard green fluid.
