Hey all,
I notice that all of the subaru sambars have what appears to be a light to shine on the bed.
I've also noticed on mine that it has a button to the right that pushes in and out. Is this the button for that rear light?
If so, my light doesn't come on. Perhaps it is burnt out. Do you all know if it is available at autozone or will I have to get it from the dealership (which will probably have to order it from Japan if this is the case).
Thanks,
Josh

i'm not familiar with the sambar, but can you get the lens off and get to the bulb? most bulbs are, for the most part, a standard item... but if it's a complete light fixture that's sealed, i can only wish you luck![]()
Yes, it has to screws that you undo to get to the bulb (assuming one is back there). Haven't bothered to look yet, figured I would ask here first.
But thanks,

My guess is that you tryed it with the truck turned off.
Guess what? It has to be running for it to work.
Just like the cig lighter as well - no workie when engine no runnie!

Well, your guess is correct. I didn't have the truck running.
Tomorrow I will give it a try except this time with the truck on!
I'm betting it will work then.
Thanks guys, you all always seem to know the answers!

Josh, i think i read on here somewhere that the cargo light will only come on when the park brake is set. maybe to prevent a rear projecting light blinding rear approaching traffic at night. try it with the park brake on running or not.
hope this helps, check it out and let us know........later, slim
Josh,
I picked up 2 bulbs (came in pkg.) from NAPA last week for like $3.00.

sorry about that, i'll crawl back to my mitsubishi rice bowl....later, slim![]()
Hey guys, thanks for the responses and good news! The light does work!
You were right timetripper in that the truck must be on.
And you were correct slimbad in that the parking break must be on.
As soon as you take the parking break off, the light turns off even if the truck is running!
This is a smart little truck I guess!
Thanks guys,
~Josh
