Question for all you to argue over - 1991 Sambar, Manual, NOT Super Charged What is the Idle Speed? What is the Red Line? THanks Adam
Red line when she starts to sputter, ease off just a bit I am sure 'tripper' will be along shortly with the correct answers
my daihatsu has a sticker under the front seat that states all that, my rocommended idle is 900 rpm. realize it's a diff truck but might get you in the ballpark?
okay, I took the time today to open the engine cover, you know the super easy one at the back...no not the on the bed, the black one with the key.....guess what? Well right there it says 800 RPM + or - 50 RPM At least that is what I think it says...........
That sounds right, I believe the MPI SC are 900 rpm same as Milts Hijet I'll try to find the correct redline for you, not sure if it's the same as S/C model
easy way to adjust idle? Hey, Is there an easy way to adjust the idle speed? I've been messing around with the cable adjustment but every other engine I have adjusted had a screw....
Maybe PM Colin if he doesn't reply here, as he has the NA version and has tinkered with his quite a bit.
Here is how you adjust it on my 98 Sambar......There is a small phillips head screw if you look down into the hole with the arrow. It is on the drivers side of the engine.
What is the easiest way to check the idle speed. I want to know immediately, because i always have to go to a truck specialist and i should also know it.
800 RPM + or - 50 RPM....Same for the supercharge. As for easiest method for confirming RPMs....use a timing light that let's you see RPMs.
You can download an RPM "strobe meter" to your phone that will pulse your flashlight at an RPM you specify. Adjust the strobe until the mark on your timing belt isn't moving. That's the RPM your idle is currently set at.
