My wheels are MB 5X from Discount Tire Direct. I would not have known about them, had it not been for Josh (jtpc).

    The wheels are 14", 4x100 & 4x114 (dual pattern), 5.5" wide, and a 35 offset,

Here is a link to the variety of 14"s available in 4x100 from Discount Tire Direct-

Nice post. That's the exact same size wheel/tire that I can run on my Toyota. Got a picture of your whole truck with these on?

Full truck shots? Full Truck shots?

I knew I was going to get called on this. I am no good at poker either.

Being as how I didn't have sufficient disposable income to buy all 4 wheels & tires right now, I decided to buy just one wheel/tire and then do a photo feature using the one wheel/tire and just move it to the various 4 corners of the truck as needed for the write-up. I am hoping for another economic incentive from my Gov't to fund the remaining wheels/tires I need........

I took him for his first ride in the Sambar today. 5 feet forward and 5 feet back. We did this about 3 times. All I heard from him was-

    WOOOOF! (translated to "AAAAIIIIIEEEE Carumba!!!!)
    and
Wooof-woof-woof (translated to "Ondolay - El Grande Rapido" or "Here Lizard - Lizard - Lizard!)

Thanks for the nice comments. I have a great base platform truck to work with. It is just a matter of time to evolve it into something personal. Got to finish it sometime this year as I want a "Classic" also.

    Looks good Terry!

Looks like you've been polishing on the truck a little, too. I see the BMW is out as well! Nice riding weather now!

I've got a "Classic" truck on order - could be yours! Unfortunately it's not a S/C, so you'll have to drive it on Sundays!

I tried to bring my ~70lb black lab to the vet in the Sambar once. I left the passenger-side window down about half way so he could enjoy the breeze. As soon as I put the truck in gear and let the clutch out, he jumped out the half-open window and landed in a ball on the ground, then ran off as fast as his legs could carry him. I guess he knew it was time to get neutered.

Oh yeah, nice wheel/tire combo. Looks really familiar.

What is the advantage of 14 inchers over the standard 12 inch wheels? Granted, the original wheel/tire combination looks very puny on kei trucks.

One advantage is you will be traveling at a higher speed with your engine turning a lower RPM.

for me the biggest advantage was a greater selection of tires. i liked the overal diameter of the stock tires for the gearing, but didn't like the width of it. i wanted a bigger footprint. for less money than stock tires would have cost to replace i bought used rims and new tires.
