    Default crossroads lift issues

    i ordered the lift from crossroads, and am having a bear of a time trying to get the strut to fall down. i have taken off the tie rod and have also taken off the connection to the sway bar (i think that is what it is called). does anyone have any suggestions? the spring compression kit will barely even fit since these springs are so small. do i need to compress the spring to get the strut to come off? i only have two bolts that connect the strut to the frame, is this normal on a 1992? thanks

    Do you mean you are trying to remove strut assembly?
    If so,yes you will have to unbolt from body,and if there is 2 bolts,then they are probably the ones.
    Once out ,this is when you will compress spring,not in the truck
    I have seen people hurt from springs because they have no idea how things work.

    i am just trying to get the strut and hub to pull/fall away from the frame/body so i can put the 2"spacer in for the lift. i have loosened the two bolts and the strut will not fall down/away. do i need to compress the spring for the strut to pull away from vehicle? i agree with you about the spring!

    This may sound stupid, but do you have your jack under the front suspension. You should jack up truck and put it on jackstands and have the suspension hanging free.

    yea, the truck is sitting on jackstands which are touching the bar running across the front of the truck. this bar seems to be stationary and acts as a guard/protector for the front area.

    i think what i am dealing with is that the strut might be rusted to where it touches the frame. should the control arm just fall down if I remove the 2 nuts for the strut??? I can pull up on the hub and the control arm will move up and the spring/strut will compress. however, i don't see how the strut can move downward, some much pressure pushing up or the rust is keeping them held together.

    make sense??
