Can anyone tell me what the difference between the air filters with 22 fins and the ones with 30 fins? Have seen both listed for a mitsubishi with a 3G83 engine. Is one better than the other or what? My truck is a 95 minicab. Crossed Ref.the number for the one with 22 fins to a wix# 46109 Has anyone used these on their trucks? Could not find a number for the 30 fin on the wix website. thanks for any help michael
What Mitsu part number were you able to get a WIX cross reference on? I have a MR 571470 Mitsu filter but I sure as heck can't get a cross on it from the WIX site. Don't know which fold version it is either.
The part number was wa-7626 with 22 fins. I got it off of a website i found on here i think it was chads but not sure. The one with 30 fins shows a part number of wa-7630 but could not get a cross reference for it. The wa-7626 also crossed referenced with a Fram#ca7626 but it looks to big to me, have not looked at the wix filter yet
TetsuKuma looked at my air filter and it has MD620584 on it but a usual cant get a cross reference on the wix site or the fram site. Dead end again
Found a ref # for the air filter in my truck MD620584 on the K&N website it shows Part # 33-2740 for a Mitsubishi Pajero Mini 660. The measurements on it sounds close but i have to take mine out this weekend and measure it to be sure will let you know
Well some more digging...it turns out that MR571470 is the same dimensions as your MD620584! It is 22 fins and matches the K&N dimensions given for the MD version.
Sounds good maybe that solves the air filter mystery. I do not want to kill a engine on a air filter that might work Thanks
Do 3G83 and 3G81 use Same/Similar Airfilter? My 89 Minicab has a 3G81 engine and most of the traffic I see is of the 3G83 engine. Chad has them all lumped together. I took a fram filter and cut it down to fit, but know that is not the right thing to do. Any help out there? Rich
Hey guys the K&N 33-2740 air filter will not work on my truck has Autozone to order me one and it is just a hair to wide got lucky and they took it back otherwise i would have blowed 40 bucks.
I did buy and try the k&N 33-2740, i had to get it from k&N directly since none of the part houses seemed to be able to get it. it works fine. it fits tight and that is what you need where i drive it. hugh.
htuner, autozone ordered one for me and it was to wide. I would have had to cut it down to make it work. They took it back and gave me my money back. What model truck do you have? Mine is a 1995
mine is a 1994, it was a tight fit very tight. I had to squeeze it in the rubber gasket was the tight problem. the bottom had to be just right also, but i did not have to cut it. the sight that i found the info was. http://www.hypertuning.com/kn/an-27400.htm
My Air filter is SUPER FILTHY and NEED a new one badly. So took filter into CDN tire. The guy tried really hard to find something that would fit but no DICE. Even went to lawn tractor dealer all too flimsy but close to the size. The K&N 33-2740 http://www.knfilters.com/search/product.aspx?Prod=33-2740 Looks right but the dimensions listed seem wrong. We measured mine and it's apx 7.75" x 6.75" x 1.75" also found this one to fit Pajero (same engine etc as my minicab) http://www.4filters.com/Replacement-Air-Filter-MITSUBISHI-PAJERO-MINI_p_4-289.html http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/K&N-33-2740-MITSUBISHI-Pajero-Replacement other numbers I've seen thrown around are for WIX Wix 46109 pictures look right but can't find dimensions I found this page but can't figure if the dimensions are metric or inches (imperial) http://www.fleetfilter.com/filter/wix-air-filters/46109.html Still looking ANYONE got any ideas?
Thanks that's what I thought... I have sent some emails and gotten auto replies and one that responded personally but have yet to hear back with a price or a sure fit. That was over a week ago. So just trying see if there's anyone out there that doesn't really browse or visit the site that often that might respond to a PM. R
I have the K&N in a stock filter air box on a 1993. It fits but you have to compress the filter on one edge to get it in. Once in, it fits like a glove and works fine. What is the number of the filter you are wanting to replace? Is it a stock Mitsubishi filter (see above for two reference numbers that both fit the stock air filter box). If you have one of those filters the K&N will work!
Yes mine is a stock filter and doesn't have a part number on it. Where are those two reference numbers? I don't see them in the thread above? Additional: I found this page that seems to have the right dimensions and make and model for my van. http://www.js-filter.com/catalogue/filter/886/A-725 MITSUBISHI MD620427 MITSUBISHI » MINICAB BRAVO Years Eng CC Chassis Eng Model Oil Filter Air Filter Fuel Filter 90.12~97.06 660 V-U42 4WD 3G83-T Tur C-901 A-725 FC-3501 It also seems to fit a number of other vehicles by looking at the cross ref on the left side of the page. also found these pages as a resource for others the first one is the best http://ttmc.ru/upload/micro/micro_cat_2002.pdf http://www.sfidor.com/mikrofilt/pdf/Number finder.pdf Now I have to see if the cross numbers help me find my filter elsewhere. Aarrgg headache Any more help would be greatly appreciated. R

Yes mine is a stock filter and doesn't have a part number on it. Where are those two reference numbers? I don't see them in the thread above? MR571470 is the same dimensions as your MD620584! It is 22 fins and matches the K&N dimensions given for the MD version. MD620584, MD620427 and MR571470 are the same and cross with the K&N.
SO you are saying that: MR571470 and MD620584 and MD620584, MD620427 and MR571470 are all the same dimensions? and match: K&N 33-2740. IS that right? MY filter MD620427 should be: 169mm 6.6535" length 121mm 4.76" wide 31.5mm 1.24" deep The K&N dimensions are listed as: Length (in) 8.188 in. Width (in) 6.625 in Height (in) 1.250 in. any idea why they don't match up? I just don't wanna buy a filter that won't fit and be stuck with it. Any ideas?
Confusing as heck huh! MR 571470 is the same as MD620584 and both of those cross over to the K&N 33-2740. The K&N is listed for the Mitsubishi Pajero Mini but fits all of the Mini trucks with the stock air filter box on the 660 engine. That of course is going to vary on model years for other vehicles using the 660cc engine, but seems to hold true for 1991-1995 trucks. You have a Bravo with the same engine but it sounds like it uses a different air filter box if the measurements are that far off. You should fine someone with a mini truck of the above years and compare filters and air boxes to get the answer. It doesn't make sense that K&N would say the same 33-2740 filter fit both unless your Bravo has had a change in air boxes.
yeah i am really confused. If I am measuring the air filter where should I be measuring from? The largest outer edge to edge? topside facing up when in the air box. or from the smaller inside dimensions that face down when in the air box. And another thing why do they publish the box dimensions. Who cares about the size of the box unless you are ordering a crate of them.
I can tell you that the K&N 33-2740 air filter listed for the Pajero DOES fit my airbox! (94? Mitsu Minicab, 3G81) Just got it, and it is a bit of a "squish" to get it into the bottom of the airbox, but it seems to fit and seal just fine. Plus, I have noticed a nice "whooooomph" sound when I get on it, and the power is up a bit, based on "seat-of-the-pants" feel at least. I LOVE K&N air filters, and have them installed on almost all of my rides. 67 Chevelle, 71 Chevy Cheyenne, (2) 1975 AMC Matador Coupes, 99 Crown Vic, 94 Pontiac Bonneville. Still need to get one for my 78 Dodge Minnie Winnie motorhome, and the 71 Jeep J2000. I would buy one for my riding mower, if it were available! Great product, and I do not sell them, or get paid by K&N to sell them. Just my opinion. renchjeep
I used the filter finder on K&N's site; http://www.knfilters.com/search/univ2.aspx?id=S0005 and came up with K&N cm-9910 when I used the dimensions above. http://www.knfilters.com/search/product.aspx?prod=CM-9910 Gradually increase your dimensions until you get a result. A little squeeze might not be a problem but you certainly don't want to go smaller as air may leak around the element.
i got a new OEM from West Shore for my 1991 Mits Bravo. I believe it was under $40, shipping wasn't a worry because there were other parts too. Sure made a difference.
I am using a K&N 33-2740 Replacement Air Filter in my 1998 Minicab. Drop-in, listed on the K&N site as Pajero; http://www.knfilters.ca/search/product.aspx?Prod=33-2740 It was $33.99 on eBay including shipping from this eBay store;http://stores.ebay.com/airintakesonline/ Sean
Just confirming the correct fit of the K&N 33-2740 air filter element. Fit perfect in my 1992 Mitsubishi U15T minicab. Thanks to all who posted previously.
