we are absolutely at wits end as to what the problem is with the Acty. It has been in the mechanic shop for 3 days. Problem: was stalling like it wasn't getting enough gas then when new fuel pump went in, it is getting too much gas (blowing black smoke). Fuel filter and fuel regulator are clear. Now thinking carb but do not have specs for settings. Where could we buy a manual?
Any help would be greatly appreciated (by us and the mechanics)
We have searched this site for two days for info but to no avail

If worst comes to worst take it to Japanoid in New Westminster and they will sort it out for sure.

What pressure is the new pump? 2-3 lbs is enough, otherwise it could be forcing the fuel past the float valve.

there was nothing wrong with fuel pump so put back on. lines and regulator are clear, guess it is carb next but need settings.
Japanoid will not give out info, says it's his business. The truck would not make it to his shop anyways, guess he wants us to pay tow bill on top of already huge and growing bill from shop it is in. We have bought lots of parts from him too, not the way to keep happy customers. guess we should have bought a manual!!
truck is now running great, took days to keep trying different things, clean up all the air flow lines, exhaust, carb etc. as so much was plugged. very frustrating job for mechanics, as they thought problem solved and nope, still ran awful. New air filter but won't run with cover on, so solved the last problem by drilling holes in the cover!! now we are off to SoCal for the month
told actual owner of the truck that she has to get a manual. may not have helped much this time though.
did you check the flapper that closes to let warm air into the air box on warm ups? if this is stuck in the warm up mode the engine will run rich and will need more air, hence the need for holes in the air box cover.
