1990 Daihatsu Jumbo

Yep,

One of only two Jumbos we've ever received and now it needs a new home. It is a 1990 Daihatsu S82P Jumbo.

We’ve been told numerous times to convert it to 4WD and we can make a mint . . . instead we used it for events, parades, tradeshows, and as a loaner for community involvement.

It’s served many purposes including giving it’s engine and transmission to an ailing sibling.

It’s shown an interest to many people as being a possible body for an electric vehicle. It also thinks getting a good replacement engine and transmission along with the parts to be a grown up 4WD would be very cool as well! Even a lift would be grand!!!

As an equal opportunity mascot, it won’t even offended if you want to remove the vinyl black spots that were placed on its fine body (without giving it’s permission!!!) even though it has been a hit with many a Dairyman.

So think it over and let us know if you want this Jumbo sent to you. We’re not sure how to price it so let us know what you think it should go to a new owner for; even if you don’t want it, what should it be worth?

Howdy everyone in Mini Truck Talk land,

We posted this nearly a month ago and here is an update. The 1990 Daihatsu Jumbo will be sold at auction August 1, 2009 in Boise, Idaho. If you're interested in buying it before the sale, let us know ASAP, otherwise you'll be one of the masses.

We've got people looking to convert it to electric or adding 4WD and a new(er) engine/transmission.

You are the experts and can more easily do what neeeds to be done to get this clean body back in the game! We need to pay our bank line off and aren't the mechanically inclined type to make it what it can/should be.

Let us know if you , or someone you know, is interested in buying or bidding on this enginless/trannyless body and we'll see what we can do, OK?
