    Default powerloss

I just purchased a 1993 Honda acty, drove about 2500 km ran great, one morning drove and bogged down and stalled(like gas was flooding the carb). It still runs, changed fuel pump & filter, spark plugs, air filter, ran seafoam through the carb and gas tank, very little smoke, still bogs down, loses power in top end of gears, it has 56,000 kilometers on it. someone suggested a filter in the carb but it doesn't show in the manual.
    any help appreciated

i would look into all the ignition components... cap, rotor, points and condesor.

another thing to look into is if the carb floods over when the fuel pump runs. to trouble shoot this, disconect the wire to the fuel pump and see if it will run smooth till the bowl on the carb runs dry. if it runs well like this then the fuel pump is pushing past the needle and seat on the carb. you have to either regulate the pressure on the pump or pull your needle and seat and clean them up really well so they shut off the fuel supply to the carb. i have seen small grains of sand or dirt clog it up, as well as little pices of the inside of rotting hoses get in there and prevent them from seating properly.

while you are in there i would check the float level as well.. check to make sure the hinge pin on the float is in good condition and that it hasn't moved out of place and also pull the float and make sure it hasn't got a hole in it that allows it to sink rather than float. if it's full of liquid it won't rise with the fuel level and close the needle and seat.

    good luck.

Thanks Mighty Milt, I thought I'de try checking and cleaning the carb last since it looked like it would be the most difficult. Ordered dist cap & rotor, does anyone know if the distributor is the same from 89 to 93 honda acty.
    Thanks

    Toosharp,
I own a 94 Honda Acty and mine has started doing the same thing. I was wanting to know if you had fixed the issue with yours and if you have what fixed?
    Thanks.

    Default powerloss fix

there is a filter in the carberator under the float that had black tar in it, cleaned it out seems to be running better but still not 100%.
