Hi folks;
I've ordered a 1994 U42T from Monky's and I was wondering what's involved in adding a third brake light.
I see there's a flat area on the back of the cab that looks like it's intended for either a third brake light or possibly a cargo light. Does anybody know if there's wiring or a wiring loom already in place there?
Failing that, do you think I could add an LED bar on the headache rack?
Any help appreciated.
Robb
Robb,
You won't find any factory-installed harness for a third brakelight. My opinion would be to add an LED brakelight to the headache rack and just run your own wires under the bed to the taillight harness (easy splice). LED's are always the better option on these trucks with the lower amp draw and you should be able to find a great light to fit the width of the headache rack.
This should be an easy project for you to complete.

Thanks for sharing your experience with a noob.
I've found a DOT compliant 17" led light bar with a clear lens that I think will look just perfect on the headache rack.
Appreciate the help,
Robb
Sure, I went with this model at etrailer.com. The price was right and shipping was quick and hassle free.
If you want something a bit more flashy, there's also this kind of thing from spoilerlights.com.
Hope this helps.
