First check the fuel filter, and remove the fuel line at the carb to make sure fuel is being pumped up to it..if no fuel is getting to it then something is clogging the line or filter (silly question but are you sure there is fuel in the tank??? We've all had that brain fart I'm sure..I know I have) could be something in the tank blocking the pick-up tube as well..if fuel is getting to the carb then photograph the vacuum lines or mark them..Remove the carb and drain the float bowl ..spry carb cleaner into the bowl (don't take the carb apart unless you have a gasket kit on hand ),just drain the float bowl and clean it out..turn the carb uside down and fill the float bowl with cleaner and put the drain screw back in and shake it (if possible vibrate the carb ,a high frequency vibration like an electric toothbrush(not the brush itself but the vibrations through the handle held against a carb float bowl can really help the carb cleaner unclog carb jets..don't laugh,I've seen a dude do it on a snowmobile carb)...let the cleaner sit in the float bowl a few hours and re-install,and give it a try..if it runs at all then quickly get some seafoam into the gastank ..a full can in a full tank and run at least 1/2 a tank through..if it all works your good to go..if not you will need to take the carb jets, float pin out and clean them (at the minimum) worst case scenario you will need a rebuild.....

The Mitsubishi I am having trouble starting is a 2003 Wuling. You can spray starting fluid in the airbox and it runs as long as you keep spraying every few seconds. the fuel pump will pump when you are trying to start but in just the on position it will not pump. Flow doesnt seem all that good but this loittle engine might not require much psi to operate injectors. I have tested the injectors and they have power to them. Is there a fuel cutoff switch or something that I am missing here? Thanks for the help

You think the Mits. (Japanese) is installing China engines. I may be wrong but I dont think so.

Well i dont know. lets just call it a Wuling. Do you have a clue of what I should look for with this engine not starting because I sure don't. I don't know where to begin

You are on the right track. If its running on starting fluid you have to have a fuel delivery problem. Start at the fuel tank and work forward. Fupabox had a good suggestion, get the seafoam into the fuel lines and injection system somehow and let it sit for a couple of hours and see what happens.

again I get caught with my pants down assumed it was an older carbed version...check the fuel pressure regulator as well..vacuum controlled on the end of the fuel rail the injectors attach to

If the regulator is bad is there one from another truck or car that crosses over or matches?
    Thanks

That I have no idea ..someone else may know..generally pressure regulator problems are 1 of 2 things...leaking vacuum line or partial clogs from dirty fuel

Do you think the pump is ok because you hear it or have you actually seen fuel come out of the line? Be careful man... there's a lot of pressure in there if it's efi.

I've gone through so many pumps in a carb version minicab.
