Hi, first I'll ask my questions, then you'll be able to read my description below if you want to. 1-Is the mini truck Suzuki Carry street legal? 2-Anybody knows 'bout good mods for the 660cc/three cylinder engine of the Suzuki Carry? It is carburated, right? How much power do you guys think I could bring it up to without pushing it to far? 3-I'd like to know if I'm the only one on this forum from la belle province: Québec? I've got a 2008 Solstice GXP (awesome ride), an old 1981 Firebird Trans-Am ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kBwujpX7BDc ) and a 1993 Honda Accord. I have many projects with the first two. My Honda accord is Falling appart though. I will repair it, then sell it in the coming weeks. The car will have to be replaced, and it will be replaced by... a Suzuki Carry! The mini truck should be mine in a couple of weeks, and will must certainly be one of my favorite projects! Small description of me: I'm a 27 years old Quebecois, and I'm an attandant in an iron ore pellet plant. I'm specialised in first and second transformations of the iron ore. I work for ArcelorMittal Mines Canada (also known as Quebec Cartier Mining). My company's one of the strongest one in the world. The iron ore in the canadian shield is one of the best that can be mined (if not the best). Proof is, we're the only mining company from ArcelorMittal, out of the eleven ones they've got, that's still standing up with the crisis we're facing. I'm realy proud of my company and of my place in it. United-Statians car companies, especialy GM and Ford, are some of our clients (which also means some discount prices, especialy with some insurance companies, like Wawanesa*). I love cars and modifying them is one great hobby! Also, I'm starting a small Airbrush business in my region (should be up and running by the end of this year). But before all that, I was a land-mayor. Also, even though I'm not realy good in english, I've been studying languages for a couple of years now and I can speak/write in English; in German; in French; and a little bit in Spanish. I was going to be a teacher, but it turns out I'll never be one... which is now fine by me! lol Peace! Sebast007 out
Suzuki Carry will be legal there in Canada if it is older than 15 years. The 99+ models are EFI, but older are carb. The engine is 660cc (not 1.3L.). Look at the Subaru Sambars too. Several Canadians on here drive the subaru. Oh, and welcome!
Welcome to the forum from the other side of Canada. There are other Quebecer's on the forum. louis westernoff [1991 Sambar Van] http://www.minitrucktalk.com/member.php?u=2127 kidgadget [1993 Suzuki Carry] http://www.minitrucktalk.com/member.php?u=2160 meminator http://www.minitrucktalk.com/member.php?u=2506 There could be other's as well but these are the one's that I found or know to be in Quebec. As for your questions: 1. As previously stated yes they can be street legal as long as they are made to comply to Provincial/ Federal Regs/ Safety A good place to find out about requirements for Canada is IVOAC.ca 2. It has the same basic engine as the Suzuki Cappichino sports car and Artic Cat snowmobile both of which have turbo'd 660's in them. The main difference between other apps and the Carry is the fact that the engine is on it's side [common to all Kei trucks] and as such has possibly a different oiling setup inside block. I think that certain things could be done but ti would depend on your mechanical abilities and also it could get pricey $$$$. 3. See above
Thanks for taking your time to give me some answers Timetripper. Anyone have links to good pictures of the engine? A stock 660cc Carry is around 45HP, right? I'll continue to search over the internet for more infos.
