Hijet s83 won’t start

Hey there,
I recently replaced the waterpump and timing belt on my hijet s83.
-Made sure timing marks on cam, crank and flywheel are in the right spots….and put belt back on.(did it several times)
-Now it won’t start and is backfiring occasionally out of the carburetor.

After telling my dad he said he expediently cranked it over for a second when the timing belt was off. Could’ve that broken anything?

Turning it over without a timing belt could of bent valves.

Yeah I checked the compression and it’s
#1 60psi
#2 and #3 Zero
