Hey Guys, I have a 1995 Honda Acty Attack HA-4 E07a engine The exhaust overheating light came on my dash the other day and it feels like its been at 50% power since it came on. Light go away when you ground the exhaust sensor plug, pulled cat off and its not clogged or blown out, no smoking, new plugs, new fuel and air solenoids, new fuel filter and air filter. Grounded plug out and drove it around and still didn't fix the issue Could a bad exhaust sensor cause the engine to be in "limp" mode and run at a lower percentage of power than normal? Thanks
I can tell you how it is on my Japan spec. 1989 BMW E32 750 V12 . The 2 cats have each one temperature sensor, which go to a relay which gives a glowing hot cat signal warning at a temperature of 870 degree C. This relay is not connected to the engine computer, it just gives a warning. Usually when such Japan spec. car is exported and the warning is not needed for inspection, people just pull the relay, here I posted it https://www.bimmerforums.com/forum/...alyst-quot-quot-Owner-s-Handbook-quot-warning grounding is also the same effect as I posted in post # 4 https://www.bimmerforums.com/forum/...alyst-quot-quot-Owner-s-Handbook-quot-warning
